TE2025 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Our lab recently took part in TE2025, the 32nd annual conference of the International Society for Transdisciplinary Engineering (ISTE), hosted by Tecnológico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.

Over three days, participants from academia and industry shared research, joined panels, attended workshops, and toured local facilities, all under the theme “Transdisciplinarity for a Better World.” The conference emphasized how today’s complex sociotechnical challenges demand more than technology alone—they require collaborative problem-solving across disciplines, drawing on engineers, social scientists, practitioners, and stakeholders alike.

Bryan Moser, President of ISTE and our Lab Director, reflected on how the society has evolved over the past decade, from its early focus on concurrent engineering to today’s mission of tackling global challenges through transdisciplinary collaboration. This shift reflects the growing need to integrate technical expertise with social insight to engineer holistic, sustainable solutions.

We thank our hosts at Tecnológico de Monterrey for an outstanding conference and look forward to TE2026 at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, where the global ISTE community will continue shaping the future of engineering.
